Movieacados! This week I am diving back into the home reno game and have less time for writing as a result (this will be a bit of a quick one). Taking inspiration from real life I decided to ponder cinematic domiciles this week.

Properly done, a house is a movie character, sometimes even the main character and in quite a few horror movies, quite literally a character. But even if the house does not come alive and attack the people, inanimate houses can still be characters based on design, decor, and basic presence. What is in a house can tell you a lot about it’s inhabitants from simple families to wacky inventors. Houses augment those around them and back to the living houses for a bit they can interact with and profoundly change characters… if only by trying to kill/maim them. Houses can leap into the real world as well, as many famous movie houses have become attractions for the towns in which they were set/filmed.

So, given that many movies are made about specific houses, they can be animate or inanimate characters or drive the plot forward, this week’s prompt is simply: What is your favourite movie house?
