Disney Animated Canon Tournament – Round 3

Woo hoo! Round 3 is here!

I don’t know about you, but that last batch of Round 2 had some surprise upsets. I didn’t see Robin Hood beating Moana (45-to-31) coming – ditto for The Emperor’s New Groove defeating Frozen (48-to-29).

And with those two upsets, all of Disney’s CGI based films have now been eliminated, leaving only the hand drawn features in contention (meaning The Princess and the Frog is the most recent film still standing, having triumphed over Peter Pan (40-to-30)). Based on some comments, I don’t think that’s a coincidence – the Avocado hivemind has made it clear what form of animation it prefers.

All those eliminations mean we’re down to just sixteen contenders going into Round 3, and if there were some tough choices before, I expect things will only get rougher from here.

To the polls!
