* The MLB trade window slammed shut on Monday, and there were players flying all over the place! Notable moves include Adley Rutschmann to the Red Sox, Dylan Hicks to the Rays, Jo Adell to the Guardians, and Lars Nootbar (NOOTBAR!) to the Diamondbacks. My own Toronto Blue Jays confusingly both bought and sold at the deadline, which probably reflects the weird situation the team is in now.
* Liverpool legend Mo Salah’s move to Turkish club Trabonzospor was officially announced. I think this is a good fit for the aging Salah, as he gets to stay in Europe, in an area where he’s adored, while competing at a lower level domestically. Also, it looks like Bruno Guimaraes will be headed to Arsenal from Newcastle, adding to the defending champions’ army of attacking midfielders.
* The preseason Coaches Poll for college football is out, and it looks a lot like the preseason polls for the last few years:
