Portland, OR is about 130 miles from the Oregon Coast Aquarium. Artist Mike Bennett has provided the next best thing. The Portland Aquarium is an art gallery filled with walk-in dioramas. Each features Bennett’s whimsical portrayals of sea creatures. An educational workbook teaches guests about the animals in each biome.

This place is delightful. I highly recommend a visit on your next trip to downtown Portland.
