The New England Aquarium opened on June 20, 1969. At the center is a cylindrical tank where Myrtle the sea turtle resides. A ramp spirals around the tank, connecting all four floors of exhibits. The ground floor features habitats for African and Rockhopper Penguins. On the day I attended their calls reverberated throughout the building. The aquarium is compact and well maintained. It is worth a visit if you pay a trip to Boston.
