Discussion Prompt: In the current “Golden Age” of TTRPGs, there seem to be officially licensed games for just about any IP franchise you can think of. Star Trek, Star Wars, Avatar: The Last Airbender, Marvel, My Little Pony, Alien, Batman, Lord of the Rings… the list goes on. A recent video from DungeonTuber Supergeek Mike asked a question that I thought was interesting. When you’re playing one of these licensed games, would you rather play as the main character(s) from the franchise, or as your own original characters? And does your answer change depending on which franchise you’re choosing to play in?

Bonus Prompt: Are there any franchises out there that don’t have a TTRPG yet that you would want to play in?
