There’s a new Supergirl movie on the way, which means people are naturally going to look back at the other movie from 1984 with Helen Slater and Faye Dunaway and also Peter O’Toole for some reason. But that has nothing to do with this header. This header is about Pomni wearing a fast food outfit.

Pomni wore a fast food outfit in Fast Food Masquerade, and no, I am not only talking about this as a means of procrastination (“You can’t talk about that on a cartoon show!”) for doing a Supergirl 1984 header. I love Supergirl 1984! It is a movie with…Supergirl in it, I think. And witches. I think. It really is an underrated cult classic. Yes. Anyway, Pomni isn’t even really the focus of this episode. It’s largely about Ragatha getting drunk on “stupid sauce” and Gangle going kind of insane. Jax is also at his most relatable here, stuck in a fake job he hates doing (you know, kind of like committing to doing a Supergirl 1984 thread…is something I would say if I wasn’t super excited about writing one!).

Pomni, for whatever reason, doesn’t get a fast foot cap to match her friends. Caine just really likes keeping her in that jester’s hat (maybe it’s a kink), or maybe he doesn’t know how to remove it (this is before the time Pomni got to wear a baseball cap, so maybe he worked out the kink). Most employees would probably be fired for wearing a jester’s hat to work so maybe Gangle is a more reasonable boss in this episode than I give her credit for. Also, no, I am not doing this tonight because I’m avoiding having to talk about Supergirl 1984 at all costs. It’s a great movie. It had flying. And Lois Lane’s sister was Supergirl’s roommate. And that wasn’t stupid at all, and has nothing to do with me choosing a Pomni header instead tonight. Nope. Not one bit.

This episode is arguably the only time Caine sent the gang on a “normal” adventure (which he resented doing), and also didn’t have any scenes of Peter O’Toole speaking gibberish (or maybe it wasn’t gibberish, I dunno) and going more insane than Gangle does with her new face. Again, I love, love, love, love, LOVE Supergirl 1984 and can’t wait to do an entire thread on a movie I barely remember despite having watched it six times. But Supergirl 1984, as amazing as it is, doesn’t have Pomni wearing a fast food outfit in it, and I’m sorry, but that just makes it inferior as a thread subject by default.
