Giles was not taking Buffy’s death well. His first placement as watcher, and the Slayer in his charge had lasted less than a week. He would not be getting a second chance. He would lose his job, and his Visa. He’d be deported soon enough, and then what? He went to pour another glass of scotch, but ended up taking a swig from the bottle instead.

There he was in his library, and why? Reading his books, his tomes and scrolls, wouldn’t stop what was coming for him now.

He spun around, bottle in hand, and laughed as a sorry soul had apparently decided to use the library *to study* for once. They were a surly sort, and had their eyes fixed on him.

“Oh, haha, I… I’m afraid I didn’t see you there” he said, sloshing some Scotch on the floor. “I’m afraid the library is closed for the moment due to some -haha- changes in administration.”
 “Buffy.” They Snarled. “I know what happened to Buffy.”
“Buffy? Miss Summers? I’m sorry, I didn’t recognize you at first. You were a friend of hers.”
“And you – you took her from me!”
“I’m – I’m sorry, what?”

But it was too late. The stake was deep within him now, and he would be with Buffy soon enough.

Hours later, when the ambulance arrived, another figure stood outside. It seemed their work was already completed.

Thoughts Thoughts Thoughts is dead, dead, dead. She was Giles, the town jailer! Every night she could lock a student in the library to keep them safe and prevent night actions. She also recieved role information from her Ancient Tomes!
