Best Anime Opening (OP)/Ending (ED) Tournament 2024 to Present – Nominations

Hello, all! I was shaken recently to realize that it has now been over two years since the first Best Anime Opening (OP) Tournament and nearly two years since the Best Anime Ending (ED) Tournament. Obviously a lot of new anime series (and new seasons of existing series) have released during that time period, with many great new OPs and EDs among them. As such, I thought it would be fun to have a follow-up tournament focusing on OPs and EDs released between January 1, 2024, and the present day. To make things easier on me, rather than having separate OP and ED tournaments I have decided to do both simultaneously. Essentially, my plan is that once we get past the nomination stage I will seed the OPs and the EDs on opposite sides of the bracket. This will effectively create two parallel mini tournaments, with the finale being the best OP vs. the best ED.

This thread is for nominations, with two main actions you can do:

  • Nominate an opening (OP) or ending (ED). At the very least I would like to have the following information for each entry:
    • The name of the series
    • The name of the song (if possible)
    • Whether the entry is an OP or an ED
    • The number of the OP or ED (if the show has had more than one)
    • A YouTube link (preferable) or other easily accessible link
  • Upvote nominations. You can upvote as many nominations as you like (even your own). The number of upvotes at the end of the nominating period will determine which OPs and EDs make it through to the tournament proper as well as the seeding.

The number of OPs and EDs in the starting round of the tournament (likely 16, 32, or 64, but possibly more if necessary) will be dependent on the number of nominations received. An equal number of OPs and EDs will advance because, as mentioned above, I plan to have them on separate sides of the bracket.

Also, since the original Best Ending Tournament started in May 2024, I just want to clarify that EDs that were nominated for that tournament (*cough* ‘Seikai wa Iranai’ from Go! Go! Loser Ranger *cough*) can be nominated again here as long as they are otherwise eligible.

Nominations will be open until Friday, May 8th, at 11:00 PM ET/10:00 PM CT/8:00 PM PT. If you have any questions, be sure to ask!

I will likely be upvoting nominations during this stage, but once we get to the elimination rounds I will only vote in the case of a tie.

EDIT: If you want to double check whether an OP or ED has already been nominated, Ctrl + F seems to work pretty well.
