Sometimes the universe does funny things. I originally planned to sign up for today’s OT and then pretty much immediately changed my mind. I got too in my head about it, so I decided I wouldn’t do what I had planned. And yet, here we are, because there was a last-minute need for an emergency thread. So I guess I’m doing this after all!

On April 8th, 1990 Kim Jong-hyun (Jonghyun) was born. He was a member of SHINee, a singer-songwriter, producer, dancer, and idol (in every sense of the word). On December 18th, 2017 Jonghyun died by suicide.[/footnote] Or you can listen to some of his music. Today would be a great day to do that. All royalties from Jonghyun’s album Poet ᛁ Artist support The Shiny Foundation, which was established by his family after his death.[footnote]You can read more about the foundation here, but they support artists through scholarships and providing mental health care.[/footnote]
