The Thursday Politics Thread Is Containing Itself

There have been a lot of highs and lows this past week, with Supreme Court cases to watching the figure skating side of the Olympics, and then watching how quickly things pivoted when it came to the men’s hockey for Americados.

The premise of flood the zone with so much going on feels even worse when you have fifty states and so many doing awful things, as you’re not just dealing with a federal government and what it’s doing.

Today is one of those days to seriously look at what’s going on with Kansas and how it’s forcefully legislating terrible actions against its trans citizens. There are a slew of places one can donate to in order to help, but it’s also important to put pressure on your representatives in your state to highlight what’s going wrong there and attempt to get them to take a stand.

We’re coming into that weird zone with primaries and special elections, so your voice is critical as part of the larger narrative and must be used. You can start seeing some hope in some areas toward the fall, but there is a lot of darkness to work through to get there. Support where you can, use your voice where you can, and definitely listen first and foremost.
