November 11th is Momo’s birthday, hooray! For some reason I signed up for the Night Thread instead of the Day Thread like I usually do for birthdays. But what you’re probably actually wondering is “who is Momo?” which is fair! Momo (Momose Sunohara 春原百瀬) is one part of the duo Re:vale, which is a idol group from the anime IDOLiSH7. Oh, you still have questions? Okay, IDOLiSH7 is an anime based on a very popular rhythm game in Japan that consistently ranks at the top of joseimuke game sales charts.1 On the surface, the anime is a show about idols and the entertainment industry but it so much more than that. As the main group (IDOLiSH7) tries to find their success, they bond, they struggle, they fight, they grow, they surprise you, they charm you, and they make you fall in love with their journey. Re:vale is one of the other groups in the show, and Momo is one of my favorite characters! He’s so fun, and sweet, and stylish, but also super smart and would do just about anything to protect his friends, especially his partner Yuki. Anyway, yeah, I love Momo a lot, and the show is great, and the music is great, so check it out. Season 4 is currently in production!
I’m realizing as I write this that IDOLiSH7 actually helped me understand the idol industry better and probably paved the way to my &TEAM obsession. 😅 Life is funny sometimes.
