The Hartebeest Night Thread

The hartebeest, or kongoni, is a peculiar creature, that mainly looks as though it has been put together from bits of several other antelope. Look at this Illidan Stormrage-looking mfer:

There are eight known subspecies and a number of hybrids; there is a large variation in coat colour and horn shape between the various types. This is a Jackson’s hartebeest, and probably your new, very socially-awkward Economics professor:

They form herds of up to 300 and are very non-aggressive, although there are fights in the breeding season and they will vigorously defend the herd from predators. One of their many peculiarities is that they will move out of areas where there is rain and into arid scrubland, i.e. going the opposite way to most of their relatives.
