The Eland Night Thread

The giant or greater eland is the largest extant antelope in the world. They stand up to 2.9m (9½ feet) tall, and can weight up to 1.2T/1.3T. It is native to central Africa where it forms small mixed herds. It is very wary of humans and is very, very fast, so the most you’re likely to see of it is its butt disappearing into the distance.

(The genetics of antelope are completely insane so I’m not going to go into it here, but if you have time for a wikiwander, please do look it up.)

But ember, I hear you cry: what of the babies? Are they cute? OF COURSE THEY ARE! They are also perfect mini-mes of their parents, but without the horns:

“Do not speak to me or my son ever again.”
