Comic Book Conversations: Secret Secret Identities

There have been several times when a superhero character took on a new identity. Some got in conflict with the government and went out on their own. Some were on the run from the authorities and had to go into hiding. Some died and came back in disguise. Some got amnesia or were brainwashed into taking on a new role.

Among all these instances, which ones were fun and which were duds?

Which ones spun out a potential for a new character to take up that new mantle?

Which ones lasted?
