Optional Discussion Topic: Betrayal

Betrayal is at the heart of many stories. Whether it’s a romantic, political, real, or imagined, having one’s allies turn against them is a common conflict for characters that turns their world upside down and creates conflict and drama.

Do you write about betrayals? Lovers who betray one another? A rebel trying to overthrow their government? A close friend who sells them out to the enemy, perhaps out of jealousy? Or maybe there is no betrayal, but the threat of suspected betrayal and paranoia is enough for them to no longer trust.
