DD2 – $1,200 – MYTHELLANEOUS FEMALES – Stheno & Euryale are her equally monstrous sisters, though she is the only one who is mortal (On the first clue of DJ, Edaureen improved by $3,200 to a close second at $8,000.)

DD3 – $2,000 – 2-WORD PALINDROMES – I’ve done this, dug in the earth to find blue twill-woven fabric used to make jeans (Andrew added $5,000 to his score of $9,300 vs. $8,000 for Edaureen.)

Scott appeared to be in trouble early in DJ, as he was in third place with both DDs gone. But he finished with a furious rally on the lower-value clues to take first into FJ at $18,200 vs. $16,300 for Andrew and $12,000 for Edaureen.

HISTORIC OBJECTS – Described as both a “beautiful violet” and “French blue” in the 1600s, this object went on tour in the 1900s before landing in the Smithsonian

Everyone was correct on FJ. Scott added $14,800 to win with $33,000 for a seven-day total of $182,901.

Final scores: Scott $33,000, Andrew $32,600, Edaureen $23,995.

Wagering strategy: If Andrew had gone all-in on DD3, he would have had the lead going into FJ and likely won the game. Also, from a close third place in FJ, Edaureen chose to bet nearly everything instead of the percentage play, which would be going small and hoping to win on a potential Triple Stumper.

Clue valuation station: So knowing the state university that had “the eyes upon” the USA’s first women’s South Asian Greek-lettered org. is worth $200, but knowing what jeans are made of and being able to spell it backwards is a bottom-row DD in DJ.

That’s before their time: No one knew the TV show that featured Denzel Washington as a doctor is “St. Elsewhere”.
