DD3 – $1,600 – HISTORICAL SHARK TANK – Mr. Wonderful will invest in Elizabeth Magie Phillips’ “Landlord’s Game”… if she’ll rename it this, nice to have in business (On the very next clue after DD2, Jeff lost $4,000.)

Jason had several tough beats in a wordplay category, so had to settle for a tie with Jeff for first place going into FJ at $13,200 vs. $4,800 for Stephanie.

Jason and Jeff were correct on FJ. Jeff chose to make a mid-sized wager while Jason bet it all to win with $26,400 for a two-day total of $48,801 and breaking the streak of 13 one-day champs.

Final scores: Jason $26,400, Stephanie $4,800, Jeff $16,799.

Wagering strategy: Jeff’s logic on FJ was that it was more likely for Jason to miss FJ than for Jeff both to get it correct, and possibly have to win a coin-flip tiebreaker clue. Given how fast Jason was on the signaling device for those last several low-value clues, Jeff’s approach did make sense.

Triple Stumper of the day: No one knew the actor appearing as the lead on Broadway in “Good Night, and Good Luck” is George Clooney.
