Welcome back to the weekly Tabletop Games thread! This thread is where we can talk about all kinds of RPGs, card games, board games, etc. Whether you gather around a physical table in the real world, or use a virtual space to play with friends who may live far away from you, this is where you can discuss your favorites, ask for and/or receive recommendations, recap your recent adventures, or even find some people to play games with!
Discussion Prompt: What’s your preferred method for keeping track of hit points/damage in D&D or your TTRPG of choice? Some might subtract damage taken from their hit point maximum until the monster or PC reaches zero, or they might start at zero and add damage taken until the hit point maximum is reached. You may have a quick shorthand method of some kind, or maybe your VTT tracks that kind of stuff automatically. Some GMs might even opt out of tracking hit points altogether and just decide when monsters die based on vibes at the table. What’s your style?
If you would like to suggest a prompt or contribute a write-up or discussion topic of your own, let me know in the comments!
