The Creative Endeavors Thread Packs It In

(Not literally, but still).

This is the space for our members to discuss and share their creative projects, ranging from written works to drawings, photography, and even craft projects such as knitting and woodworking. Self promotion is welcome (websites where we can view and/or purchase your work). Please do continue to preface if content is NSFW and be sure to properly spoiler/link such content. Those of you who’d like to post future Creative Endeavors Threads post your request in the comments below.

The day draws near. It’s still almost two months away, but after nearly eleven years living here (the second of which saw my return to the visual arts; however things shake out, it’ll be weird doing this somewhere else) those months feel like they’re gonna go by pretty fast. I’m almost done whittling everything down to what I plan to move into the new place—mainly clothes, a skeleton art supply kit, electronics, some small furniture and a few books. At first glance, my new room might actually approximate or even exceed the size of the entire “old place,” as I’ve started to think of it, so I’m probably acting with an excess of caution in moving as few items as possible. On the other hand, it’ll be a lot easier to move again (as I plan to in the next couple of years, hopefully by August ’27) if I keep my storage unit, and even having been more careful over the past several years than I’ve been through much of my life, it feels like there’s still a lot I can get rid of or give away. Giving myself a month in the new place before I start to go through the rest of it with (I hope) a fine tooth comb.

Managed to keep up with the painting much better than I have earlier in the year; I’m planning to stop all oil painting on the solstice and I wound up bringing the varnish date ahead for older oils and acrylics after the management company had to have the house inspected ahead of the tenant changeover. Probably cutting out acrylics and maybe even paintings period come the Fourth as I’d like to have as little to worry about as possible in the last few weeks. One side effect of the “triple shadow”—politics, weather, and now relocation—is that this summer’s likely to feel like one of the shortest on record and I still want to try and relax (let alone enjoy myself) while I still can. Still lagging on illustrations but between the (hoped for) effects of a slight remove from downtown and the autumn weather, I think I can bring that back up later in the year if necessary.

I fear I’m too lazy to do a header this week. I got some decent sketches from a nicely life-affirming Pride festival in Ypsilanti but they don’t really fit with the theme.

How’s your work going?
