Thinking back on the work of the recently departed Alf Clausen, and after getting a positive response to the idea in last week’s Couch Avocado thread, I’ve decided now would be the perfect time to do the two things the Avocado likes best: being huge Simpsons nerds, and having a tournament.

Yes, we’re gonna be deciding which is the best musical number The Simpsons ever did. Please note, this is only for songs originally created for The Simpsons, whether they appeared on the show, in the movie, or in some piece of ancillary media like The Simpsons Sing the Blues. Songs from other sources that happened to appear on The Simpsons are not eligible – sadly, this means Sideshow Bob’s performance of The H.M.S. Pinafore is excluded.
