I mostly take wildlife photos, but have been recently taking pictures of many other things. This week: Red Fox Kits! One of the commenters, I don’t remember who it was, here on The Avocado once said that I must live in ‘The Land of Cute Foxes’, and they were right; I do! Until recently, Foxes were a subject I rarely went searching for while out taking pictures. I would, of course, take pictures of them when I spotted them, but they were more or less an afterthought for me. But in the last few years or so, as I would come across them more frequently; they became one of the primary focuses of my photography trips. They are just too cute too not take photos of when sighted. They can be found all across Cape Cod, but probably the best spot to find them on a regular basis is Race Point Beach, Provincetown. There are at least three known den in the area. The dens, located within the Cape Cod National Seashore, are usually blocked off by park rangers to stop people from disturbing the foxes, but are still accessible enough for pictures to be taken at a safe distance. All foxes are cute, but the cutest of them all are the kits. Throughout the Spring and early Summer mornings and afternoons, the red fox kits will come out to play around while their parents hunt the dunes of the Cape for food. Here are some pictures of kits I’ve taken from the last two months
