What was the best thing you ate this past week?
For me it’s a tie between the pan-seared black cod I had for lunch Friday and a Korean tteokbokki my wife made for dinner Thursday. The cod was so delicious and. It was my first time cooking it so I stayed really simple, pan-seared and finished with a little bit of butter for basting. I was rewarded with a silky, rich and buttery filet that I paired with leftover rice.
The tteokbokki was a revelation too. I’d had it before at a bar/restaurant and it was okay. My wife cooked the rice cakes to just the right amount of crisp on the outside and they stayed chewy inside. I need more of this in my life.
