And here we are, PSG vs Inter Milan, a final not many were expecting. PSG has completely reformed after losing their stars little by little with Mbappé being the latest one to depart. It doesn’t matter, they are playing better now with the likes of Dembelé, Vitinha and Kvaradona. As Luis Enrique put it: “None of you are special[…]Yes, there’s a star, a star that shines more brightly than anything else, that is the team. That is the star, the team”.
Inter reaches the final in a different spot, they have not won any silverware this season in Italy and just lost the scudetto against a Napoli that somehow revived Lukaku of all people. Still, they have a good team and have played probably the best Champions League Semifinal ever, winning 7-6 in aggregate against Barcelona, with the second leg being a 4-3 in which somehow their keeper was the player of the match. You can’t beat that emotional momentum.
Still, none of these two teams are real underdogs. PSG is valued at 924 million euros and Inter at 664 million. So, there’s that. I’m not rooting for either one, although it’d be hilarious if PSG win it just after Mbappé left. Man, Luis Enrique will never shut up about the team being the most important thing if that happens.
