This is my favorite tree. The one in the featured image. Do you see it? Yeah, that one. It’s my favorite! Not my favorite type of tree. My favorite individual, specific tree. It’s in my backyard. And it was planted by my husband, as a surprise anniversary present for me. Its flowers bloom every year around our anniversary, which just so happens to be…today! Ralph, as he’s known around these parts, is objectively the best. Trust me on this. 1If you need some proof and don’t mind some bragging…not only does he do things like plant pretty trees, he listens with interest when I ramble on about shoujo manga, happily engages with all the things I care about, watches silly Japanese dramas with me, spends over 30 minutes wandering around the maze of Shibuya station looking for a limited time advertisement for an anime I like, goes ice skating with me at Sendai Ice Rink because it’s where my favorite skater trains, makes a delicious dinner for us almost every night, cheers me up when I feel down about my Japanese studies, introduces me to new books/movies/food/music/video games, constantly teaches me new things about every subject imaginable, makes me laugh more than anyone else, never makes my dreams seem impossible or silly, and is just the coolest and most caring person I know. It’s worth nothing that I wouldn’t even be on this site if it weren’t for him. So, yeah. Pretty cool dude. Also, here’s a cute love song/music video because why not?
