Lorenzo Music was born on May 2, 1937. He voiced Garfield the cat on the show Garfield and Friends, as well as twelve animated specials and some commercials.

Lorenzo was a writer and regular performer on The Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour. He also co-created The Bob Newhart Show and was one of the composers of its theme song. He also wrote episodes of The Mary Tyler Moore Show and Rhoda.

Besides Garfield, Lorenzo did quite a bit of other voice acting as well, including playing Peter Venkman in the first two seasons of The Real Ghostbusters.

Lorenzo passed away in 2001 due to complications of lung and bone cancer. He was 64.
