There’s a movie coming out this week featuring a team called the Thunderbolts. The franchise has had many twists and turns since they appeared like a bolt of lightning in late 1996. The name has been used for undercover villains, former criminals seeking redemption, a fight club, current criminals working for the government, and then various black ops and mercenary groups.
