My ma went thrifting a couple weeks back and was delighted to find this objet d’art. It now occupies pride of place as her Easter centerpiece.

However, I find it unsettling, as it appears to me that one bunny is strangling the other.

What could have motivated the larger rabbit to murder the other? Was the small bunny a witness to some heinous crime? Were they the only obstacle to a huge inheritance? Or did the big bunny just crave the feeling of soft fur struggling beneath their paws as life slipped away in short, ragged breaths? These are the questions that will haunt me as we sit down to Easter dinner.

My ma says they’re holding hands.
