Welcome to The Avocado’s weekly discussion of Japanese pop culture! One of my favorite singers, miwa, is releasing a new “best of” album today to celebrate her 15th anniversary. So I have a feeling I’ll be listening to this a lot for the next several weeks, which is perfect because I think her music as a very distinct spring/summer vibe to it. If you’ve never listened to miwa, this is a great place to start! It’s actually two albums, with 37 songs total, so there’s lots to enjoy! Looking at the songlist, I think they’re split between electric dancey-stuff and acoustic ballad-type songs. Or something like that. Anyway, here’s one song from each that I’m especially fond of!
