“Stove/Smother” is a medley of two songs originally written and performed by Eric’s Trip. They were covered by Sloan and released in 1993 as part of a split 7″ with Eric’s Trip (in a limited edition of 1,000 copies) to benefit CKDU-FM, a community/campus non-profit radio station in Halifax, Nova Scotia. It later appeared on the 1994 DGC Records compilation DGC Rarities, Vol. 1.
