Hello, welcome to Day Thread. Today we have the first OP to the 2006 anime NANA, “rose” by Anna Tsuchiya.
NANA is my favorite manga of all time, although it sadly remains on a seemingly permanent hiatus, with the last volume released in 2009. While the manga covers more story, the anime has by virtue of its format the advantage of, you know, being able to include music in a series about a bunch of aspiring rock stars. And that music is pretty great!1
As a bonus, here is Tsuchiya performing the full version of the song live in 2023. It remains pretty great!
