Argentina’s Aconcagua has the distinction of being the highest mountain peak outside of Asia, thus the highest in the Americas, as well as in the western and southern hemispheres. It reaches 22,838 feet, or 6,961 meters, in elevation.

Located in the Principle Cordillera of the Andes mountain range, close to the border with Chile, the term “Aconcagua” has an interesting ambiguity, per the Wikipedia article‘s etymological section:
The origin of the name is uncertain. It may be from the Mapudungun Aconca-Hue, which refers to the Aconcagua River and means “comes from the other side”;[7] the Quechua Ackon Cahuak, meaning “Sentinel of Stone”;[9] the Quechua Anco Cahuac, meaning “White Sentinel”;[3] or the Aymara Janq’u Q’awa, meaning “White Ravine”.[10]
