Human culture has been deeply wrapped up in the changing of the natural seasons since time immemorial. Especially in regions farther from the Equator, which see distinct variation between hotter and colder temperatures, we often find our experiences closely associated with the time of year during which they occur. This easily finds a place in fictional storytelling.
The prompt: What is your favorite story that takes place during a distinct season–defined by weather, a holiday, etc–and incorporates as one of its core aspects, that season’s look, feel or meaning?
Association Bonus: Is there a movie that, regardless of its own content, you associate very strongly with a seasonal experience in your own life?
Song Bonus: What are some of your favorite uses of songs in film/TV to evoke a particular season? (Instrumental scores included.)
