John Millington Synge was an Irish playwright who hobnobbed with Yeats, Lady Gregory, etc. His most famous work is The Playboy of the Western World, about a boastful fellow who doesn’t actually manage to kill his dad despite multiple tries (it’s funny, really). There were riots in the streets of Dublin, and, honestly, I’d love to live in a world in which people get that riled up about art.

Have a great Day Thread, Avocados!
