The Week 17 NFL Thread Is Over Both Joshs And Allens

The Bills’ Josh Allen is the clear winner in this week’s NFL thread (and life in general, let’s be honest) when it comes to active quarterbacks wearing #17. But others who wear the numbers could be either a Josh or an Allen. Let’s investigate.

How about the Ravens’ backup quarterback, journeyman Josh Johnson? He’s been on a record 14 (!!) NFL teams throughout his career, beginning with the Buccaneers back in 2008.

Or perhaps Brandon Allen, a backup for the 49ers? He’s been on five teams, starting with the Jaguars in 2016. If you could create a mutant quarterback from Josh Allen, Josh Johnson and Brandon Allen – how would it turn out?

There are also two outcasts free of the Josh and/or Allen legacy that wear #17. There’s the Browns’ Dorian Thompson-Robinson, a man given a chance to win a starting role amongst a truly terrible quarterback situation in Cleveland. And to the right, the Bears’ Tyson Baguette Bagent, who isn’t very good. He might be a less visible Tommy DeVito, come to think of it.

But never forget the other Josh Allen, or as of this season, Josh Hines-Allen, from the Jaguars. A man who once intercepted and sacked Josh Allen in the same game.
