In which your host, as of this writing, is on Day 3 of not drinking. Not sure it’s going to last much longer, but I made it past Tuesday night (with booze in the house!) which has been a difficult day for me in the last year or so. Small victories.
I’m realizing there are a couple of other minor changes I’ve made in the last month to six weeks in re: my diet which could also use an overhaul. It’s not been deliberate so much as that my taste buds are rebelling: anything saltier than regular Cheerios is off-putting at the moment. I know having a permanent salty taste in your mouth can be indicative of bigger problems; that’s not what this is (so far) but I will for sure be following up with my doctor about it posthaste.
I still find myself heading to the PT out of habit; I miss the folks there but it’s getting easier to Nope out of it and remind myself why.
Anyway. Hope the folks who celebrate Turkey Day today are enjoying the football, eating as much as they want, and not dealing with toxic family members. As for this Canadian, since this thread doesn’t run on Thanksgiving Mondays I will post this now:
The City of Toronto acknowledges that we are on the traditional territory of many nations including the Mississaugas of the Credit, the Anishnabeg, the Chippewa, the Haudenosaunee and the Wendat peoples and is now home to many diverse First Nations, Inuit and Métis peoples. The City also acknowledges that Toronto is covered by Treaty 13 signed with the Mississaugas of the Credit, and the Williams Treaties signed with multiple Mississaugas and Chippewa bands.
How are you all doing?
