30 Day RPG challenge day 14: Dialogue /character writing and Voice Acting

Welcome to the 30 Day challenge of November which is going to be all about Role Playing Games of all shapes and sizes, whether produced in Japan or USA, tactical or real-time and more.

With RPGs usually being story-heavy games, that means lots of characters doing lots of talking as lots of things happen to them. Today we skip past the overall main stories themselves and zoom in on the nitty gritty writing of the game, which can end up a main draw in itself- sometimes you’re seeking out as much dialogue as possible, just for the joy of it! And so whether we’re talking fanciful prose or contemporary, the main prompt of the day is: What RPGs had the best character writing/ dialogue? Any where the writing was the biggest strength/ main draw of the game?

DARKNESSheartLIGHTkey prompt: RPGs with the most awkard, dull, or overwrought dialogue?

HA HA HA HA prompt: Best and worst RPG voice acting? Any scripts elevated/let down by the voicework?

Y BURN/Wywern Prompt: Going old school, what are your experiences with poorly translated games?
