Welcome to the 30 Day challenge of November which is going to be all about Role Playing Games of all shapes and sizes, whether produced in Japan or USA, tactical or real-time and more.
It’s monday, the weekend is over and people head back to work, so what better time to talk GRINDING in RPGs. RPGs are long-ass games, meaning you can sometimes find yourself doing repetitive tasks. They’re also games about gradually gaining strength (as discussed in last weeks “What is an RPG” thread, and sometimes one can find oneself running in circles
And so the main prompt of the day is: what is your tolerance level for grinding in RPGs? In what games did it go down the easiest/hardest? Do you mind it as necessary for progression, or should it be reserved for optional stuff?
Bonus prompt: Do you grind unprovoked, or in response to increasing challenge? And does finding yourself suddenly grossly overleveled increase/decrease the fun for you?
New Prompt Plus: Item drops! Best and worst cases of drops being super stupid rare?
Optional Postgame Prompt: Whats the most you’ve ever spent grinding in a game? And would you be able to do it again?
