Halloween might be over, but that doesn’t mean we can’t do a header for one of the most iconic horror movie characters of all time. You know his name. You know his face. That’s right. It’s Michael from Halloween 5.

Michael—who goes by “Mikey”—is truly unforgettable, thanks to his signature traits which include “his hair” and “his car.” And…well, I’m sure there must be other things, since everyone online won’t shut up about this “Michael” fella. He’s kind of a big deal, this dude.

When we meet Michael, he’s in his car. It’s an immortal cinematic image. Michael is dating Tina, apparently, and Tina is extremely stupid, but we’ll get into that later. I’m not even sure why she’s dating him, since Michael really only cares about his car and his hair.

And Michael will fucking kill for his car. This must be why everyone talks about how scary he is! Michael takes no prisoners! “Touch the car again, and you’re dead!” This is why Michael is a popular Halloween costume even today.

Now, Michael might be a seemingly unstoppable force of nature—a “shape” if you will—but even he has a weakness. And that comes back to his beloved car. When some motherfucker in a mask (I can’t recall his name and am feeling too lazy to look it up) dares to SCRATCH his freshly waxed car, well, Michael’s ready to go to town. He attempts to whoop his ass…and takes a gardening tool to the forehead. Yeah. Bye, bye, Michael.

Now, this would be the end of Michael’s legacy, except his story continues from there. Kind of. See, this masked nobody switches his mask to wear Michael’s Halloween mask. He goes to pick up Tina (I’m not sure why), and as I noted earlier, Tina is incredibly stupid. It never occurs to her that this massive guy with a completely different body type than her douchebag boyfriend might not actually be him, even though he doesn’t speak, breathes heavily, and never once makes a reference to his car. But hey, at least he stops to let her buy cigarettes (again, for some reason). And why does that mask look like Hoggle from Labyrinth?
