The final installment of the Spooky Lego header series had to be a night thread – it’s about nightmares. Lego’s latest big original concept is a theme called Dreamzzz, about children who become dream warriors in their sleep or something. I have not kept up with the mythology at all, I just know some of the nightmare designs go HARD AS HELL. LOOK AT THIS SHARK SHIP.

With a striking black and pink color scheme and surprisingly hardcore designs, the nightmare faction of the Dreamzzz theme is some of the most effectively spooky stuff Lego has ever done.

Even when they’re not especially scary, they’d usually look right at home airbrushed on the side of a van, like the giant evil pegasus unicorn.

Like Hidden Side before it, Dreamzzz does not seem to be taking off with the youths despite its creative designs. The Nightmare Shark Ship is slated to retire at the end of this calendar year. But for now, it’s the state of the art in Spooky Lego.
