In the last few years, as part of their ever more extensive partnership with Disney, Lego has released a few spooky Disney sets. The first, in 2022, was a miniature Haunted Mansion.

The next year brought us the Lego Ideas Hocus Pocus cottage, which is a cute-looking build that I might have considered buying if I thought that movie were more than a 5/10.

And just last month, another Ideas set brought us the Tim Burton’s Nightmare Before Christmas set seen in the featured image. There have been a few previous flirtations with the NBC license in the form of collectible minifigures and a pair of Brickheadz which manifestly fail to maintain Jack’s spindly proportions.

And while we’re here, I might as well shout out 2020’s 10273 Haunted House. While not an official Disney license, it is clearly inspired by Disney’s Tower of Terror attractions, specifically the one in Japan which is themed around the rare artifact collection of Harrison Hightower III. Here, Lord Sam Sinster, the villain from Lego’s old Adventurers theme stands, in for Hightower, and his cursed ruby is what sends guests plunging from the height of his mansion.

That’s it for spooky Disney Lego… for now. For the last several years, I’ve been saving all my Lego VIP/Insiders points against the eventuality that they someday release a proper full-scale version of the Florida Haunted Mansion, which would be my #1 must-buy set ever. Only time will tell.
