30 Day VILLAINS challenge, day 14: Trickster gods and agents of chaos

Welcome to another 30 day challenge which in honor of spooky season will cover the topic of Pop Culture Villains!

Sometimes villains are complex characters with complex goals and motivations. And sometimes the villain just wants to cause chaos and mischief in and of itself, with motives ranging from “because I’m bored!” to HEEEHEEEEHEEEHEEE
So whether we’re talking “neutral” villains like detached godsor comically malevolent critters of pure evil, the main prompt of today is: what are your favorite villains driven defined simply by anarchic chaos? Do you enjoy this trope at all?

Bonus prompt: Best and worst cases of villains trying to make a philosophical point of their anarchy

Maniacal prompt: Best and worst cases of eventually trying to retrofit proper goals/motives to initially chaotic villains?

Machiavellian Prompt: Villains who’d have made more sense if they were just “for the luls” chaotic?
