Welcome to our fourth and final reading club discussing Astonishing X-Men by Joss Whedon and John Cassaday. Each Thursday, we have been discussing one arc from the historic run. In light of John Cassaday’s recent passing, many of us wanted to celebrate his most iconic hit with mainstream audiences. Whether you’re reading for the first time or giving it a revisit, we’ll do our best to spoiler text any upcoming plot developments.

We’ll note that the allegations against Joss Whedon must be acknowledged and implicitly understood in all our discussions, though we would like the space to mostly exist to celebrate Cassaday and the work itself. Basically, we shouldn’t feel the need to preface every statement with an apology but we should also be aware of the elephant in the room.
