2024 WNBA Finals Thread

After its most-watched season ever, the WNBA is down to two teams competing for the gold!

The New York Liberty, despite being one of the league’s founding members, have never won a championship. They built a superteam featuring Breanna Stewart, Sabrina Ionescu, and Jonquel Jones to compete with the Las Vegas Aces, who they finally vanquished in the semifinals this year.

The Lynx had a dynasty in the 2010s, but this is their first time in the Finals with their current group of players, featuring Napheesa Collier, Bridget Carleton, and Courtney Williams. Despite not having the most star-studded team, the Lynx have been dominant this season, winning the in-season Commissioner’s Cup and edging out the Connecticut Sun in the semifinals.

The Finals are a best-of-five series:

  • Game 1: Thursday, October 10 (8:00 EDT, ESPN/TSN)
  • Game 2: Saturday, October 13 (3:00 EDT, ABC)
  • Game 3: Wednesday, October 16 (8:00 EDT, ESPN)
  • Game 4 (if necessary): Friday, October 18 (8:00 EDT, ESPN)
  • Game 5 (if necessary): Sunday, October 20 (8:00 EDT, ESPN)

Feel free to chat about the games, ask questions, or comment on the season at large. Get into it!
