Jeopardy!

STUNTING AT THE GYM // THE MIDDLE EAST // NFL TEAM ADDRESSES // YOU’RE GONNA HAVE TO SHARE // OPERA // PLURAL-ONLY NOUNS

DD1 – $1,000 – OPERA – At age 37, Rossini composed his last opera, this one set in medieval Switzerland (Amanda added $1,000.)

Scores at first break: Mark $6,000, Daniel -$1,200, Amanda $2,400.

Scores entering DJ: Mark $6,800, Daniel $1,000, Amanda $3,000.

Double Jeopardy!

NATIONAL HISTORIC PARKS // THE FOREIGN-BORN DIRECTOR // COOKING TERMS // SPY NOVELS // LAW // DIMINISHING RETURNS

DD2 – $1,200 – SPY NOVELS – Goldfinger tells James Bond he calls his chauffeur this “because that describes his functions on my staff” (With $10,400 and a lead of nearly $10,000, Mark added $5,000.)

DD3 – $800 – LAW – If you’re a company officer, director or 10% stockholder, you’re this type of person–no trading its stock based on secret info (Daniel dropped $800 from his score of $3,800.)

Mark was spotted a $3,000 lead by running a pro football category to start the game and kept on building to a big runaway into FJ at $23,400 v. $4,200 for Daniel and $600 for Amanda.

Final Jeopardy!

BRAND NAMES – In 1886 this brand’s bookkeeper came up with its name & flowing script logo, saying, “the two Cs would look well in advertising”

Astonishingly, FJ was a Triple Stumper. Mark dropped $3,400 to win with $20,000 for a two-day total of $50,401.

Final scores: Mark $20,000, Daniel $4,200, Amanda $0.

Tough category of the day: The players went 1-for-5 in COOKING TERMS, but for whatever reason, decided to stick with it until completion to open DJ rather than try their luck elsewhere.

Clue selection strategy: Mark scored three-in-a-row in a movie category working bottom-up, smartly switched categories before picking the top-row clue and immediately found DD2. However, Mark later returned to that same category while DD3 was still on the board.

Correct Qs: DD1 – What is “William Tell”? DD2 – Who was Oddjob? DD3 – What is insider? FJ – What is Coca-Cola?
