The Weekly Wrestling Thread Throws a Bash in Berlin

It’s been a busy week for wrestling. We had three great wrestling shows over the weekend, one of the most insane career derailments in recent history, one of the greatest wrestlers in the world debuts in NXT, and more.

-WWE’s Bash in Berlin was the best show this past weekend. All of the matches were good, with Gunther vs. Randy Orton being the best match.
-NXT No Mercy was also great. The highlight was Roxanne Perez vs. Jaida Parker, followed by the NXT debut of Giulia. Without getting crude, she’s almost as beautiful as she is talented and she is just stunning. We also had fun matches with Nathan Frazer and Axiom winning their tag titles back and Zachary Wentz defeating Wes Lee.
-TNA Emergence was also this past weekend and, believe it or not, it had the very best match of these three shows. Josh Alexander and Nic Nemeth had an epic Iron Man match that was among the best Iron Man matches I’ve ever seen.
-After spending years in catering, Odyssey Jones finally showed up on Raw a few weeks back. He teamed up with The New Day to feud with The Final Testament. He had an impressive showing against the Authors of Pain and it looked like he would start to make a name for himself, possibly being a new Mark Henry. Well, we can forget about that because he’s not only been fired by WWE but his profile has been wiped from their website (an “honor” usually reserved for people like Chris Benoit, Gable Steveson, and Vince McMahon). People were wondering if it was just an error at first but word got out that he was accused of domestic violence. WWE’s unusually fast handling makes me believe that WWE must know that it’s both true and real bad. Old posts of him making transphobic comments also spread, because he’s nothing if not a diversified asshole. I’m a little disappointed about this, he’s from the same area as me and I was rooting for him. At least I still have Mike Rotunda.
-But hey, Jones can always go to Mexico if he wants to keep wrestling. Konnan even said so:

Yes, this is a real tweet.
-Val Venis took a break from being a transphobic shitstain on Twitter to say that Gunther and Sami Zayn would have been fighting to “carry his bags” back during the Attitude Era. And here I thought Disco Inferno had a Monopoly on ’90s mid-card gimmick wrestlers that thought they were main eventers.
-We close out this week’s thread with the passing of Mexican legend Villano V. He was 62. He was the son of legendary Mexican wrestler Ray Mendoza and the fifth member of the legendary Villano clan. Despite being the fourth oldest son, he was V because his younger brother started wrestling before him. He and his brothers (Villano III and Villano IV) made many appearances in WCW in the late nineties and V even got to wrestle Eddie Guerrero. Here’s his best match, his best two out of three falls mask match with Blue Panther:
