30 Day Time Travel challenge day 26: Best and Worst Time Skip (not just within Anime!)

And yet I did a Naruto header. Well, shorthand is important, and I ran out of time for a gif.

Welcome to the challenge of August, which is going to be all about Time; mostly fiction dealing with Time Travel, but also other topics to do with Time, and the manipulation thereof.

Sometimes a story suddenly finds itself in the future not due to the usage of advanced machinery or magic, but simply because the storyteller chooses to omit depicting of a chunk of time in the story.
Beyond being an excuse for Shonen Protagonists to get stronger the Time Skip can be used to spice up or recalibrate the status quo in all sorts of ways, and so, todays prompt is: What are your favorite and least favorite cases of Time Skips happening in ongoing stories? What stories managed to land them satisfyingly, and where did it seem like a waste?

Note: This is more intended for discussion of Time Skips as featured events of ongoing stories rather than time passing until a Legasequel Movie gets made, though these are fair game too

Bonus Prompt: What thing skipped over by a time skip would you most like to have seen depicted?

Extra Bonus Prompt: What story has the biggest quality gulf between pre and post timeskip?

Paradox Bonus Prompt: Any series that could’ve done with a time skip to shake things up or speed things along?
