It has been quite a journey, folks! Just yesterday I recommended Evil to a friend and told her I’d really miss this show after today. That being said, after four great reasons is a fantastic time to end a show. So, let’s get started!
Kristen is seeing her first clients and Ben is working in a really ugly cubicle that seems unlikely for the amount he’s supposedly getting paid. Someone has carved “run” inside his desk. And David is praying, and Horny Imaginary Kristen wants to leave the church with him, but David says “no.” At The Entity, they are planning a way to stop Leland. Cut to The Girls pulling out their VR glasses, then Kristen walking in to see her new client: Leland. She tases him. Ben and David arrive and find she’s been tasing him about every 20 minutes, which is fantastic. The Team burns the assessor files that the Vatican was asking for and Ben gets that stupid Santa song in my head for the next several months.
Sister Andrea confronts Leland and Stick/Demon. She is unimpressed by their hook.
The girls are using their VR glasses and doing something they probably shouldn’t. Some game that shows them their future. They see Leland about to murder Kristen with an icepick (the same one she murdered a guy with?) and scream their heads off. The real Kristen comes running to ask what’s going on. The goggles have a countdown clock on them of 24 hours.
CREDITS! 18 minutes in. “For old time’s sake don’t skip this intro.” I never have, Evil!
Kristen, David, and Ben put on the googles and do the game. Ben sees himself go through a wormhole to see the girls standing very still staring at something: his sister on her death bed. Despite his big talk about knowing this is VR, he’s taken in and crying. Kristen sees Dr. Boggs in her office, asking her to take a massive personality inventory to figure out why she’s been deemed an unfit parent. The girls are being taken from her. She screams. David sees Sister Andrea demon-hunting. The demon kills him, and Leland does his usual “God is a phony” talk.
In the real world, a bunch of things are outside Kristen’s house. They’re people wearing VR glasses of their own and for some reason they think they need to get inside Kristen’s house. They’ve been playing the same game, and it’s indicated that they have to do something inside the house to stop whatever the glasses showed them. The app the girls used has been mapping the house for this game.
I LOVE this event planner’s outfit. Stick and Leland are planning something “goth” and Sister Andrea is not so subtly eavesdropping. The Vatican also has a spy listening. Andrea goes to their little Flowers by Irene van to tell the Vatican they have this wrong. They don’t care. Come on, Sister Andrea, you know the Vatican wouldn’t listen to a woman.
The sigils The Sixty uses map to regions of the brain, to “upload despair right into the brain”.
David also tries to warn the Vatican that they’re being set up. The Sixty kindly left a note: “meet the evil coming to New York: YOU!” Everyone gets knocked out with gas.
The Sixty is announcing their success over a Zoom call, because of course. 18 of The Entity dead but Norm still can’t figure out how to unmute. Anyway, they’re using technology to implant evil and despair, as David said. Gray still wants a black mass, which Leland says is happening “tonight.”
The Vatican wants The Team in Rome. David seems surprised that Kristen and Ben aren’t jumping at the chance. She tells David no, but later watching her doppelganger she changes her mind. That is, of course, when something tries to break into the house. Doors don’t work so instead it comes out of the hole in the basement, and by “it” I mean Leland. Three minutes left in the countdown. Leland has a very big knife. He’s looking for Kristen and hears the shower going, but of course Kristen is a step ahead of him. She gets a rope around his neck, and suddenly Ben and David are there helping.
On the VR headset, the 24-hour trial period ends. LOL. The girls immediately want to buy the subscription.
David and Ben say they’ll take care of the barely alive Leland. They bring him to the church and put him inside the relic box kicking and screaming. Sister Andrea and Leslie are there. Aww. Sister Andrea hugs David. Triple awwww.
In Rome, the girls are all in adorable hats and Kristen is in a beautiful dress. They’re video calling Ben, who is cleaning up the last of his Djinn stuff. Timothy is still a little bit The Antichrist, it seems. Or maybe part cat. Kristen isn’t going to tell David that. David also has cool sunglasses. THE END!
