(This go-round of Open Threads, I’m taking a picture of my DVD/Blu-ray collection and showcasing one movie or TV show from the image, however embarrassing.)

Well this picture offers a wealth of possibilities (plus I just realized I must have alphabetized my movies at some point), but we’ll go with Hush . . . Hush Sweet Charlotte, because I adore Bette Davis, I love a good southern gothic, and the movie is set and was filmed here in South Louisiana: Trifecta!

Released in 1964, Hush . . . Hush Sweet Charlotte opens with Charlotte’s paramour being murdered and Charlotte the seeming culprit.

I mean, she is covered in blood and all.

God I love Bette Davis.

and dealing with her cousin quite literally driving her insane. A cursory Google search tells me that Joan Crawford was involved at one point, so there’s probably some juicy backstory that I don’t know about, but honestly, it’s just a fun movie I watched a long time ago.
