We get a very The Shining opening shot of a long hallway with Sister Andrea at the end of it, eyeing the hallway suspiciously. Suddenly, there’s a dead man and also Nate Corddry.
Nate/Paul is meeting with The Team and says his father is Sister Andrea’s “one that got away”. He says someone who looks like him is vlogging. I guess that part might no longer be a problem, as in one video the doppelganger sets himself on fire. Paul feels that now the doppelganger is inside of him. Seriously, y’all, this show talks about suicide a LOT this season.
Kristen goes to one of Leland’s court hearings. Stick introduces Dr. Boggs as Leland’s defense psychiatrist. Dr. Boggs is also seeing Stick’s true form, which intimidates him into lying and saying Leland is criminally insane. He also diagnoses him with DID, which the prosecution should really hammer down on because that is EXTREMELY rare. Dr. Boggs ends his recommendation with a twist: he also believes Leland should be locked away for life. Leland says “well, he’s dead”. Probably true.
The Team stays with Paul to see what happens to him at night. He does indeed sleepwalk and says he is Gregory, the man who killed himself. He walks out into the hallway behind a double of himself, passes out, and then the double does a VERY befanged smile at Sister Andrea.
CREDITS! 14 minutes in. “If you skip the intro, you will miss high quality content like this…knock knock? Who’s there? The Interrupting Ghost. The Interrupting Ghost Wh-BOO!”
Did a miss what the lawsuit was about? Someone give me an explainer if I did.
The girls suggest Kristen do an OnlyFans. Hey, she’d clean up.
At the trial Leland is asked why he had two people hooked up to IVs in his apartment. His explanation is that he offers vitamin therapy. When Stick points out both people died Leland has no explanation for that, but Stick leads the questions to blaming Sheryl. At this point, Sister Andrea arrives to tell Stick she sees through his disguise. I love her.
Ben’s new job sounds kind of evil. He also found another doppelganger, with the theory that knowing there are more would make Paul feel better? That’s a weird theory. They show Paul the second doppelganger. Ben looks to see if he can find his own doppelganger. Kristen tries it too, using a picture of David.
Paul’s apartment. He’s calling his ex-wife to apologize. It…does not go well. Sister Andrea sees The Man Who Got Away, appearing as if he’s missing a very huge chunk of his skull. She hands it to him and he just kinda…pushes it back on. It’s hilarious. She asks him why he’s trying to kill his son. Instead of an answer she’s treated to a vision of herself with a giant shovel, who attacks her.
Kristen has a sex dream about David’s doppelganger, then goes to court. She’s called as a witness and presents evidence of Leland’s various misdeeds. It’s all very funny but she’d have to get this evidence approved by the court first. You can’t actually just supply surprise evidence. Anyway, she puts on an amazing performance praising Sheryl. It is also implied that the prosecution got Leslie to flip.
Kristen notices they’ve gotten a TON of flowers. No, they aren’t being stalked by Christian Slater. The girls have started a GoFundMe for Laura’s heart issues.
Kristen wants Dr. Boggs to give her referrals so she can start a practice in her shed. While discussing this she gets a call from David: Paul is in a coma after attempting suicide.
David is proposing a way to save the church, but the Archdiocese plays the Uno Reverse Card and wants to sell the parish. Apparently, this means they need to deconsecrate it, and they have two weeks to get the fuck out. David is devastated. Sister Andrea confesses to him that she feels guilt for the death of The Man That Got Away. She also feels guilt over her doubts, and this is why organized religion can be so fucking terrible, y’all.
Leslie shows up to court and also sees Stick’s true form. You gotta find a new trick, Stick. Though it seems to work. The judge asks to see Leslie in his chambers as he believes she’s being intimidated. She admits she knows what Leland is capable of. He asks her if she’s still willing to testify and then CUTS HER FUCKING HEAD OFF. More like Richard UNkind.
He then dismisses the case and makes Leland promise to leave Kristen alone, which of course Leland phrases as “you and your family will never see me.”
Exorcism time! During it, Paul seems to be taken over by The Man Who Got Away. Then, as Paul, he asks why his father left him. It’s very sad. Then he throws up. Gross.
Kristen is trying the doppelganger site. With this scene I assume Herbers speaks the language and may actually play that instrument considering she’s the child of two musicians. At the church, David and Sister Andrea talk about what’s happening with the church. Together, they play that holy chord. THE END.
